JEDCline's Online Photos for Friends and Family A hike into the Organ Mountains' east side The park road shows a preview of the terrain to be hiked. A tree announces the stark struggle of life past and present in this area. Found its niche in life. Reaching some pines and looking back where we came from. Cholla cactus stakes its claim to the rugged terrain. Extra adventuring on rock climbing. The east side of the Organ Mountains are rugged desert with both cactus and pine trees We reach the top of the trail Trees here reflect the struggle for life, still making it. On the trail back down we go. This view seems to summarize nature here. Lichens busy at work here, making life where it was only just rock and sunshine before, long ago.
