PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

UCSD Geosciences, work performed at LACMNH, Los Angeles, California Jan-Apr 2003

Curiatorial Assistant

Temporary employment as curiatorial assistant at museum facilities. Primarily preparation of thin sections of fossils, using diamond saws, grinders, polishing, gluing, and checking under microscope, logging them into computer database, etc. Seiving of bulk samples. Also curiatorial duties re fossil specimens involving specimen labeling and data input to computers. Work performed at Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History facilities, done for UCSD.

Also related to unpaid volunteer work at LACMNH facilities, which additionally involved processing of alcohol-preserved small marine specimens, digital photography of small marine specimens, microscope picking of marine specimens out of bulk samples, scanning figures and graphic preparation for use in museum marine research databases. Used both Macintosh and IBM-compatible computers at times for these activities.
